Fruit Juice
NOT RECOMMENDED
Fruit juice is not recommended for dogs. It is high in sugar, lacks fibre and can upset the stomach.
What to do
Offer water instead. Contact your vet if your dog drank a large amount or juice containing xylitol or grapes.
When to contact a vet: Emergency vet attention if the juice contained xylitol or grapes.

Why
Fruit juice concentrates the sugar from fruit without the fibre that slows absorption. This can cause diarrhoea and contributes to obesity and dental disease. Some juices, such as grape juice, are toxic. Many commercial juices contain added sugar, preservatives and artificial sweeteners, including xylitol.
